  • Only download Wanker from our website (or official Dropbox) to ensure you are getting the official code!
Installing
  • Run the “WankerInstaller.exe” file and follow the prompts for the installer.
  • Windows may give a pop-up that Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented WankerInstaller.exe from starting. If this occurs:
    • Please click “More info” underlined text
    • Then click “Run anyway” button
    • This will correctly install Wanker.
  • Wanker will need to download the .Net run-times if your computer does not have them.
    • There could be two, separate run-times you will need to download and install.
    • Follow the installer prompts to download the files from the Microsoft website.
  • When running Wanker for the first time, please read and accept the EULA.
Where to find content
  • Wanker can work with any .MP4 file to create wank tracks.
  • We suggest a video downloader browser extension/plugin so that you can “scrape” content from your favorite sites.
  • Popular sites to find free videos you can “scrape” include:
Adding video files (Albums)
  • There are two ways to add MP4 files to Wanker.
    • Click the “+” button in the top center of the screen next to the search bar.
    • Click the “add video” button under the Albums page.
    • You are now ready to create Wank tracks under the Create page.
Importing Wank files
  • Importing Wank files (MP4 video files with Wank tracks already created) can be done easily by clicking the “import” button in the Albums section.
  • You can obtain Wank files from users on Reddit, or from time to time on our shared Dropbox.
Webcam Setup
  • Wanker requires a webcam to function properly as an interactive video player.
    • The image from your webcam tells Wanker when you are all the way in or out.
    • You must properly locate your webcam for the optimal experience.
  • Wanker can usually detect your preferred webcam and automatically initialize it. You will see a view of the webcam in the top left of Wanker.
  • If you would like to select a different webcam or make adjustments, go to the Settings page.
Webcam Calibration
  • Position your webcam so that it gets a full view of your wank movement (in and out). Ideally, you can position your webcam perpendicular to the thrust/wank motion.
  • You can calibration from in-to-out (IN) or from out-to-in (OUT).
    • this option is settable in the Webcam page.
    • switch between in and out mode by pressing the “i” or “o” keys respectively.
    • The method of calibration (in or out) will be displayed on the webcam view in the upper left of Wanker.
  • There are three ways to start a calibration:
    • click on the webcam image in the top left with your mouse.
    • click the “calibrate” button on the Webcam page.
    • press the left-control key on your keyboard.
  • If you are encountering jumpy/erratic playback after calibrating multiple time:
    • adjust the “Calibration Image Width” in the Settings page lower.
    • This can help to eliminate a speed issue with the downside of possible lack of precision when Wanking slowly.
    • Lowering this option can be particularly helpful if you have an older/slower computer.
Wank mode
  • The Wank page is where you will spend most of your time enjoying tracks you have obtained or created.
  • This allows you to wank in the physical world and have Wanker play the video accordingly so that the video keeps up with you in the physical world.
  • Enter full screen immersion mode by either:
    • Clicking the “immerse” button in the top right.
    • Pressing space bar.
    • Clicking on the video displayed in the main Wank area (any mouse button).
  • To exit full screen immersion mode:
    • Press space bar again.
    • click again.
    • or press escape (this minimizes Wanker and stops all sound).
  • Move through tracks (scenes within an album) by:
    • Pressing the right or left arrow keys on your keyboard.
    • Pressing the right or left purple arrows with your mouse (or finger if on touchscreen).
    • Clicking the track at the top of the Wank screen with your mouse (when NOT in immersion mode)
  • Move through albums (MP4 Wank files) by:
    • Clicking the album thumbnail on the left.
    • Pressing the up or down arrow keys on the keyboard.
  • Select either Ping-pong or Loop mode by clicking the button in the bottom left.
    • Ping-pong mode plays through the Wank track from beginning-to-end and then plays backwards from end-to-beginning. It is the most smooth and natural way to experience Wanker.
    • Loop mode plays through the Wank track from beginning-to-end, and when reaching the end starts over at the beginning. This can be jarring if the position of the camera moves throughout the clip, but can work nicely with certain videos.
  • The in-and-out saw-tooth wave portion of the Wank track is displayed at the bottom of the Wank page when a track is loaded.
    • This allows you to see where you are in the Wank track.
    • This allows you to see the penetration level detected by your webcam based on your calibration.
    • If you are getting “stuck” at a particular portion of the Wank track, either go more deeper or shallower, or consider re-calibrating.
Creating Wank tracks
  • Wanker uses “Wank” tracks created by users to convert what you are seeing in video to the physical world.
    • Typically, these wank tracks are small portions of a larger MP4 video.
    • Ideally, a wank track can be created for each scene / position in the video. This allows users to move between these tracks dynamically.
    • A wank track has a beginning node (green circle) and an ending node (checker black and white circle).
    • By assigning depth values to key points of the video (all the way in and all the way out, for example) Wanker can map the playback of the video to the depth detected by the webcam.
  • To create a wank track:
    • go to the Create page and click an album in the left-hand view. This will load the video file.
    • Move to the portion of the video of interest using the slider or by clicking the play button.
    • When you arrive at the scene of the video which is a portion of interest:
      • Go to the start frame (usually all the way out in the video).
        • Click the circle in the D-pad to insert your first point. You can also click the bottom arrow on the D-pad.
        • A new point will be inserted at the bottom of the Wank track profile view.
        • Select that point by left-clicking with the mouse. It will turn red.
        • Then right click on the point and choose “Track Start” in the pop-up menu.
        • This tells Wanker to start a new track.
      • Move several video frames later (to the right) by pressing the play button, the single-right arrow button, or the double-right arrow button (to jump ahead multiple frames).
      • Once you get to a frame to set the next point (usually all the way in).
        • Click the circle in the D-pad to insert an additional point. You can also click the top arrow on the D-pad.
        • A new point will be inserted at the top of the Wank track profile view.
      • Continue stepping through the scene until you have several triangle patterns of in and out defined and you are satisfied with the length of the Wank track.
      • At the last point of the wank track:
        • This will usually be an “out” point (shown at the bottom of the Wank track profile view).
        • Click the point to select it. It will turn red.
        • Then right-click and choose “Track End”.
      • Congratulations! You have created your first Wank track. The album will be automatically updated to show your new Wank track. You can immediately go to the Wank page to try it out if you would like.
      • Or, you can create as many Wank tracks as you would like per album.
      • If you make mistakes when inserting points, simply click on the wank point, right click, and select “Delete Selected Point”.
      • Once you have created several Wank tracks per album, you may choose to export the album as a .wank file to backup all your hard work. Keep these files somewhere safe, or better yet share them!
      • See the “exporting wank files” below for how to export your .wank files.
Sound
  • Wanker has advanced sound processing to make the experience feel lifelike.
  • There are three main volumes you can adjust in the Settings page:
    • Voice (V) – this is the sound level of the voice coming from the people in the video.
    • Noise (N) – this is the sound level of the noise which can be added in the background to make the video sound more lifelike when moving slow.
    • Master (M) – this is the sound level of the overall application.
  • Increase or decrease the Master volume using the “+” and “-” keys on your keyboard.
  • Adjust how often audio clips are played and how long the clips are played for in the Settings page.
Settings
  • There are multiple settings found on the Settings page which can help to enhance your Wanker experience.
  • Camera Settings:
    • Default Calibration Image Width (in Pixels):
      • This adjusts the number of pixels used by the webcam to determine the depth of your wank.
      • Lower numbers use a lower webcam resolution and can help speed things up on older/slower computers and the expense of depth calculation precision.
      • Higher numbers increase the webcam resolution and can help make the depth calculation more precise at the expense of speed. Only set this higher if your computer is newer/fast.
    • Default Calibration Direction:
      • This can be set at either out or in.
      • OUT means you will move out for your calibration. You will slowly move your wank from in-to-out for the calibration movement duration.
      • IN means that you will move in for your calibration. You will slowly move your wank from out-to-in for the calibration movement duration.
  • Sound Settings
    • Sound is played semi-randomly and for a semi-random length of time when you are Wanking to make the Wanking experience lifelike.
    • The sound playback is timed to occur at the proper time in the Wank track to make the Wanking experience lifelike.
    • Your preference for how often your hear sound and for how long are adjusted by several sliders.
    • Min/Max Pause Between Audio Clips (sec):
      • The left-hand slider sets the minimum time which needs to elapse before another voice/sound is played.
        • Setting this higher will give longer pauses without sound.
        • Setting this lower will give shorter pauses without sound.
      • The right-hand slider sets the maximum time which needs to elapse before another voice/sound is played.
        • Setting this higher will give longer pauses without sound.
        • Setting this lower will give shorter pauses without sound.
    • Min/Max Audio Clip Length (sec):
      • The left-hand slider sets the minimum length the audio clip will play.
        • Setting this higher will give longer sounding clips.
        • Setting this lower will give shorter sounding clips.
      • The right-hand slider sets the maximum length the audio clip will play.
        • Setting this higher will give longer sounding clips.
        • Setting this lower will give shorter sounding clips.
    • Default Background Noise.
      • Wanker plays background noise to make the video sound more lifelike when moving slow (no sound from the video is coming through).
      • Here you can choose which type of noise you want from several options – the default is brown noise.
